The death of a South Jersey man in a confrontation with police is under a mandatory review by an arm of the state Attorney General's Office, authorities said. Daniel Nevius Sr., 55, of Sicklerville, was shot and killed in a wooded area of the Gloucester County town of Deptford on Sunday, Jan. 22. Officers confronted Nevius at a location on Fox Run Road in response to a 911 call shortly before 1:30 p.m., according to a release from NJ Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin's office. Teenager Charged With Shooting Pair Of Victims In Atlantic City
An 18-year-old man from Atlantic City has been charged in a pair of shootings last month, authorities said. An investigation conducted by detectives of the Violent Crimes Unit identified Quadri Cooper as the suspect involved in the shooting resulting in the filing of criminal charges, police said. Cooper was already in custody and lodged at the Atlantic County Justice Facility for an unrelated handgun possession charge that occurred on Dec. 22, 2022, police said. Teens Wounded In Atlantic City Shooting
Two 15-year-old boys were wounded in shootings in Atlantic City, authorities said. On Sunday, Jan. 22, at 1:38 a.m., police responded to the 600 block of Baltic Avenue in reference to a ShotSpotter alert. Police found evidence of gunfire but did not locate a victim. Moments later, officers were alerted about two shooting victims at a residence about a block away. Camden Man Charged In Shooting: Prosecutor
A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of another man earlier this month, authorities said. Khalil Davis of Camden was charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses in the shooting in Pennsauken, according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Pennsauken Acting Police Chief Phillip Olivo. Teen Hurt In Daytime Shooting In Atlantic City
An 18-year-old from Atlantic City was wounded in a weekend shooting. On Saturday, Jan. 21, at 3:05 p.m. patrol officers responded to the 600 block of north New York Avenue in reference to a ShotSpotter alert. Police found evidence of gunfire in the area of New York and Sewell Avenues, but did not locate a victim. Moments later, an 18-year-old victim entered the emergency room at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, for treatment of a gunshot wound. Man Dead In Double Camden Shooting
A 31-year-old South Jersey man was killed and a 20-year-old injured in a shooting on Saturday, Jan. 7, authorities said. Eric Cecilia, of Leesburg, and the other victim were shot on the 3200 block of Saunders Avenue in Camden around 8:45 p.m., Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez said.
