Hamilton Township Man Dies While Walking Across Road With Dog, Police Say A Mercer County man was killed while walking his dog and crossing a road in Hamilton Township, authorities said. Mohamed Ahmed, 63, of Hamilton, died in the crash on Wednesday, Aug. 21, the township's police division said in a news release. The crash happened on Hamilton Avenue near the intersection with Donald Drive at around 4:10 p.m. Investigators said Ahmed was walking with his dog on the west side of Hamilton Avenue when they tried to cross the road "from a mid-block location." Video Shows Police Rescuing Dog From Hot Car On Jersey Shore A dog locked in a hot car for nearly 45 minutes was rescued by police officers this week in Ocean County (scroll for video). The small, white dog appeared to be okay after the tense rescue on Tuesday, Aug. 30 at Sherman Ave and Ocean Terrace in Seaside Heights, as reported by Jersey Shore Fire Response.  Temperatures hit a high of 90 degrees that day. It was not clear if any charges had been filed.  Click here for the complete video from JSFR.

Deer Chased By Dog Dies After Crashing Through Window Of River Vale Home It came in as a possible burglary in progress but turned out to be a horrific accident. Sometime before dawn Wednesday, a deer being chased by a dog crashed through the window of a River Vale home, police said. The gravely wounded deer eventually died, Capt. Chris Bulger said. Animal control removed the carcass from the Coopers Lane home, he said. “The dog appeared to be fine and the deer showed no signs of injury from the dog,” the captain said. The dog’s owner and the homeowner “have been in contact and will handle the matter between them for the damage,” he said.
