Services Held For Mark Hudson Jr., Ewing HS Grad Shot, Killed In Broad Daylight At 21

Funeral services were recently held for Mark Kendall Hudson, Jr., the Ewing High School graduate who was shot and killed in broad daylight on Nov. 22 at the age of 21.

Born in New Brunswick, Hudson graduated from Ewing High School before pursuing higher education at Mercer County Community College, his obituary says.

Hudson had previously worked at Marrazzo’s Grocery Store of Ewing, Acme of Lawrence, Shop Rite of Pennington, Man Power and Abacus Staffing Services, according to his memorial.

Hudson participated in the youth choir, praise and worship team, steppers church and church book club at Friendship Baptist, where he was a dedicated member.

Hudson was also a Junior Mason with the Dr. Arthur T. Shack Order of the Knights of Pythagoras and King David Lodge #15.

Hudson was known for his love of basketball, video games and stock trading and was always eager to expand his knowledge in numerous subjects, his obituary says.

Hudson is survived by his loving parents, Jeanette J. Hudson and Mark Kendall Hudson, Sr.; maternal grandmother, Lena Johnson; uncles, Gary Lamont Johnson, Duncan Aaron Johnson, Kenny Thomas and Keith Carmichael (Aita); great uncle, Louistine Sherrod, Sr.; godmother, Mamie Jones; cousins, Kenya Lewis, Angela, Mya, Marcus, and Howard Hammond, Eva Lewis, Paul Powell (Odessa), Al Powell (Glenda), Ray Powell (Dora), Barbara Anne Powell, Melvin and Terrell Powell, Louistine Sherrod, Jr. and Carolyn Sherrod, as well as his “church family” and numerous other close friends.

Hudson’s funeral was held Dec. 2 at Campbell Funeral Chapel on Calhoun Street in Trenton.
