NJ Teen Arrested For Shooting: Police An 18-year-old Pleasantville resident was arrested and charged after shooting a person in the city, authorities announced Tuesday, Aug. 4. At 11:33 a.m., on Tuesday, July 21, officers responded to Linden Avenue and Merion Avenue and found a person with gunshot wounds to the chest and left arm, Pleasantville police. The person was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, police said. An investigation determined the shooter was Tyree Kay and he was taken into custody by the Atlantic County Sheriff Department, police said. At 3:31 p.m., tree limb fell on power lines, causing the power lines to land on parked vehicles, which saw a vehicle catch ablaze and spread the fire to other cars, Cherry Hill Fire Department said. The fire unleashed plumes of smoke into the sky and caused a power outage at the Grand Apartments, firefighters said. No injuries were reported, firefighters said.

Camden Motorcyclist Killed In Route 295 Crash: Njsp A 47-year-old Camden man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Route 295 in Gloucester County, authorities said. At 10:16 p.m. on Friday, July 31, troopers responded to a crash on Route 295 north in Logan Township after a a Suzuki motorcycle driven by Jermaine Hatcher struck a Ram pickup, Charles Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. Hatcher was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, Marchan said. The driver and three passengers in the Ram sustained minor injuries, Marchan said. The crash remains under investigation, Marchan said.
