Details have been released in a crash that caused serious delays along the Garden State Parkway on one of the busiest travel times of the year. Just before 2:10 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, a Honda SUV driven by a 62-year-old Jackson man was heading south in the local lanes while a Toyota SUV driven by a 20-year-old Montville man were both heading south in the express lanes, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Morning rush hour traffic appeared to be moving smoothly on the Garden State Parkway after buckled pavement caused major delays in Toms River. A pavement heave was found on the southbound side near milepost 82.7, the parkway said on Twitter at 5:47 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2. Emergency repairs forced the right lane to close, causing significant delays during a busy Fourth of July holiday travel week. A tractor-trailer fire shuttered part of Interstate 95 in Philadelphia for hours, Pennsylvania State Police explained on Friday morning. The tractor-trailer was already ablaze when it jackknifed on I-95 South at mile marker 25.6 in Philadelphia County near the Betsy Ross Bridge into New Jersey around 7:30 a.m. on June 28, state police detailed in the release. The crash occurred at about 2:10 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12 on I-195 westbound East of Exit 7 in Robbinsville, according to the NJDOT. A dump truck lost directional control, ran off the roadway to the right, struck a tree, and overturned, New Jersey State Police said. The driver of the dump truck was transported to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, State Police said. The crash remains under investigation.
