The crash occurred on the northbound side near milepost 13.2 in Bridgewater Township around 3:50 a.m., NJSP Det. I Jeffrey Lebron told Daily Voice.

The first tractor-trailer became immobilized on the roadway and was rear-ended by the second, which then overturned, Lebron said.

The third tractor-trailer then rear-ended the overturned tractor-trailer and became disabled.

Minor injuries were reported in the triple-trailer collision, Lebron added.

The crash shut down multiple lanes and caused major delays for early-morning commuters — up to 100 minutes around 7:30 a.m., according to 511NJ:

As of 10 a.m., the northbound left and center lanes had reopened, while the right lane and exit 13A ramp remained closed, the NJDOT said.

Delays of about 30 minutes were still being reported.
