Verona Car Wash Employee In Intensive Care After Out-Of-Control Sedan Knocks Him 50 Feet
A Verona car wash employee was in intensive care after an out-of-control sedan driven by a 75-year-old man sent him flying, authorities said. The elderly Bayville resident's Cadillac left the roadway and hit the unidentified 41-year-old worker who was on the job in the driveway of Quality Car Wash on Bloomfield Avenue on March 26, Police Chief Christopher Kiernan said. Federal officials are investigating the deaths of three Amazon workers who died within three weeks of each other at facilities in New Jersey. The deaths occurred between July 13 and Aug. 4, according to the regional director of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). : Construction Worker Rescued After Falling 15 Feet Into Bergenfield Trench
A construction worker from Elizabeth was rescued Tuesday after he fell 15 feet into a job site trench in Bergenfield, authorities said. Bergenfield firefighters, assisted by their colleagues from Hackensack, hoisted the 39-year worker up from the foundation of the South Prospect Street site after he lost his balance and fell in shortly before 1:30 p.m., Detective Lt. Willam Duran said. He was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with a severe leg injury, Duran said.
