Morris County is mourning Morris Hills High School graduate Tyler Richard Scerbo, a standout track and field athlete who died at his college home in Ithaca, New York on Wednesday, August 16, his obituary says. He was 22.
Born at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Tyler grew up in Wharton, where he played football and excelled on the high school track team, particularly as a thrower in shot put, discus, and javelin, according to his obit.

Paterson detectives nabbed two dealers and seven buyers while seizing nearly 300 heroin folds at an open-air drug market near the city public library, authorities said Wednesday.
Responding to continued citizens’ complaints, Narcotics Division detectives hit a stretch of Summer Street between Hamilton Avenue and Van Houten Street late Tuesday afternoon, Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale said.

Busted: Police Nab Pair In String Of Morris County Car Burglaries
Police in Morris County arrested a pair they say carried out a string of early-morning car burglaries.
Thomas Berry, 31, and Samantha Delano, 26, are accused of breaking into cars on Shore Road in Lake Hopatcong and stealing various personal property on Feb. 16 around 6:10 a.m., Jefferson Township Police said.
Berry, of Wharton, and Delano, of Stanhope, were identified by witnesses and taken into custody, where they were charged with burglary and theft, authorities said.
Berry was taken to Morris County Correctional Facility while Delano was released on a summons.
