Motorcyclist, 31, Airlifted In Franklin Township Crash A 31-year-old Bound Brook motorcyclist was airlifted to the hospital with a serious head injury in a crash with another vehicle on Thursday, Aug. 15. The crash happened at 5 Manville Causeway near Weston Canal Road around 7:35 p.m. in Franklin Township, Lt. Vincent T. Wilson said. Responding officers from the Franklin Township, Manville, South Bound Brook and the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department performed lifesaving efforts to the victim before he was airlifted by New Jersey State Police's NorthStar helicopter. Memorial For Councilman Shot Dead At PSE&G Will Help Daughter Through College In PA A former PSE&G employee shot and killed his supervisor outside the utility company's Somerset County facility on Wednesday, Feb. 8,  authorities say.  But this "one-of-a-kind" man's legacy will live on through his daughter, according to his family. Russell "Russ" D. Heller, 51-year-old councilman in Milford, NJ, was gunned down by 58-year-old Gary T. Curtis on Weston Canal Road in Franklin Township shortly after 7 a.m. Feb. 8, Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald said. Amazon Opening Distribution Center In Franklin: Report Retailing giant Amazon plans to open a distribution center in Franklin Township, local officials told mycentraljersey.com.  In addition to the distribution center, slated to open by June, the company is also opening two warehouses at Weston Canal Road and Randolph Road. The site is under construction.  More than 1,000 positions on two shifts will be created, with hundreds more temporary positions created during peak holiday periods.
