Passaic Sheriff: Passenger Reaches For Loaded Gun In Paterson Stop, Driver Armed, Too
Both a Paterson driver and his passenger were carrying loaded guns when a pair of Passaic County sheriff’s officers stopped them, authorities said.
Officers Peter Pelle and Angelo Calabro stopped the black Chrysler van North Main Street for several traffic violations, Sheriff Richard Berdnik said.
As he exited the van, front-seat passenger Dontre Williams, 19, suddenly reached into his jacket, Berdnik said.
Calabro immediately grabbed Williams, patted him down and pulled a 9mm Taurus G3c semi-automatic handgun from the jacket, Berdnik said.

AG: Jersey Shore Postal Workers, Ex-Con Caught With 2 Kilos Of Deadly Fentanyl, Heroin, 54 Guns
Two Jersey Shore postal workers and an ex-con paroled less than a month ago were caught with nearly 4½ pounds of fentanyl and heroin – worth nearly $3 million on the street -- as well as dozens of guns, authorities said.
Detectives were watching as ex-con Andre Sulimenko, 56, of Barnegat, pulled his Subaru into the driveway of a Jackson home earlier this month, state Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal said.
The homeowner, U.S. Postal Service employee William Woolley, emerged and approached the vehicle, then handed Sulimenko a kilo of fentanyl in a bag, he said.

Loaded Handgun Recovered From Unlicensed Driver In Routine Secaucus Traffic Stop
A Jersey City man had a loaded handgun on him when he was stopped by police for having tinted windows, front license plate and a bogus rear license plate in Secaucus, authorities said.
Darrion Pierce, 25, was stopped around 10 a.m. Sunday, when police smelled marijuana in his car, Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said.
A search of Pierce's car turned up a loaded Smith and Wesson revolver, along with other drug paraphernalia, Miller said.
Pierce, an unlicensed driver, was arrested and charged with several weapons, drugs and motor vehicle offenses.
