A 50-year-old New Jersey ex-convict is facing multiple charges after police responding to a call for service found assault rifles, high-capacity magazines, and more stashed in safes in the home, authorities said. Bloomingdale officers had responded to a local home on Sept. 19, when they discovered two safes, " which officers reasonably believed contained illegal firearms," the department said in a news release. Anthony "Tony" Camal, a world-renowned Judo master and Paterson firefighter, died on Monday, July 29, according to his obituary on the Festa Memorial website. He was 63 years old. Raised in Inwood, NY, Camal later moved to Totowa and Paterson, where he served for 15 years on the fire department before retiring as captain in 2013. He later settled in Woodland Park. There are more QuickCheks in the Garden State. QuickChek, a convenience store known for its subs, recently opened a location in Totowa at 809 Riverview Drive at Route 46 West. The 5,670-square foot store opened its doors on Tuesday, May 9. The Totowa location is the fourth QuickChek to open in the last six weeks, including stores in Ridgefield and Union Township.
