Feds: NJ Ex-Con Caught With 33 Guns, High-Capacity Mags, Silencer, Ammo Takes Plea
UPDATE: A South Jersey ex-con found with dozens of guns, high-capacity magazines and ammo admitted having others buy guns for him, federal authorities said.
Darick Nollett, 32, who lives in Cumberland County near the Delaware Bay, caught the attention of law enforcement when he bought a “fuel filter” – a device commonly used to silence firearms -- from China, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig said.
As a convicted felon, Nollett was prohibited from having weaponry, Honig said.
So he got straw purchasers to buy guns for him, she said.

A traffic stop produced an illegal handgun and the arrests of two men, Bogota police said.
Officer Lewis Duenas stopped their Honda SUV on Elm Avenue around 9 p.m. Wednesday as part of a “Drive Sober Get Pulled Over, Sgt. Geoffrey Cole said.
The driver, Deondrey Ogletree, 26, reached for his paperwork, when backup Officer Matthew Luciano spotted the 9mm Taurus handgun in the glove compartment, the sergeant said.

Elmwood Park PD: Wanted Paterson Man Nabbed With Stolen Gun, Hollow Points, Oxy
A wanted Paterson man was carrying a stolen gun loaded with hollow-point bullets when Elmwood Park police arrested him, authorities said.
Brandon Diaz, 21, was driving a 2005 Honda Accord with an expired registration when he was stopped over the weekend, Police Chief Michael Foligno said.
They quickly learned that Diaz was wanted out of Paterson for aggravated assault with a firearm, Foligno said.
The officers arrested Diaz on the outstanding warrant, then searched the car and found the 9mm Taurus pistol, reported stolen out of Georgia, the chief said.

Both a Paterson driver and his passenger were carrying loaded guns when a pair of Passaic County sheriff’s officers stopped them, authorities said.
Officers Peter Pelle and Angelo Calabro stopped the black Chrysler van North Main Street for several traffic violations, Sheriff Richard Berdnik said.
As he exited the van, front-seat passenger Dontre Williams, 19, suddenly reached into his jacket, Berdnik said.

A 15-year-old Paterson boy was caught carrying two handguns with large-capacity magazines, authorities said.
The teen at first tried to avoid Officer Jensin Burgos when he pulled up to the corner of 12thAvenue and East 24thStreet, Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale said.
When Burgos got out, the boy bolted through an alleyway, discarding a black bag he was carrying, Speziale said.
A gun fell out, he said.
