Morristown PD Saves Sussex Man Dangling Legs From 5-Story Building During Mental Health Crisis
Morristown Police successfully rescued a 20-year-old Sussex man who was dangling his legs from a 5-story building during a mental health emergency over the weekend. Officers responded Saturday to the 45 Market Street apartments, where the man was sitting on a ledge on the roof and dangling his legs over the side of the building in a “precarious” position, Morristown Capt. While a mix of ice, snow and freezing rain is expected to coat the region Monday evening, another storm comprised of mainly snow could be just days away, meteorologists say. Freezing rain was likely to start falling around 6 p.m., with northwestern New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania expected to get the most ice accumulation, according to the National Weather Service. High winds toppled trees and power lines across New Jersey, leaving tens of thousands of residents in the cold, authorities said. More than 25,000 electric customers were without power early Monday afternoon, according to the Garden State’s major utility companies. 19: Murphy Reverses Indoor Gathering Rules
Indoor gathering limits in New Jersey are back to where they were in June. Citing an increased COVID-19 transmission rate, Gov. Phil Murphy on Monday scaled back indoor gathering limits to 25 percent of a room's capacity with a maximum of 25 people. Exceptions to that rule include weddings, funerals, memorial services and political activities.
