Hurt, Stranded Swan Rescued From Lake Musconetcong Dam (Photos) Emergency crews spent hours braving treacherous conditions to rescue a stranded swan that was found hurt and unable to fly on Lake Musconetcong Thursday, authorities said. The bird was found stranded at a dam along the lake "at least 15 or 20 feet out of reach," according to the Netcong Police Department and St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center in Madison. Hunterdon Central High School Junior, Varsity Lacrosse Goalie Alexea Karpinski Dies, 17 Hunterdon Central High School junior and varsity lacrosse goalie Alexea Karpinski died Nov. 21. She was 17. Born and raised in Raritan Township, Karpinski was known for her love of sports, particularly lacrosse. She played as goalie for the Hunterdon Central Red Devils as well as for the Triple Threat Elite Club Team, her obituary says. Karpinski had a goal of playing D1 lacrosse while pursuing an exercise science degree. She wanted to become a professional athletic trainer, her memorial says.
