Serious Crash Closes Central Jersey Roadway
A serious crash closed a roadway in Central Jersey, authorities said. The crash was reported at about 10:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9. South Brunswick police said that Promenade Boulevard westbound was closed at Route 1 due to the crash. Police expected the area to be disrupted for the next four hours. What police in South Brunswick initially believed was a possible abduction turned out to be a big misunderstanding, police said. Authorities launched an investigation Wednesday, Aug. 3, when witnesses said they saw a woman bleeding from her head and yelling help being pulled into the cab of a tractor trailer. A beloved custodian of a South Brunswick middle school was struck and killed by a car while working, district officials said. Dean Battaglia, 53, was spraying weeds on a curb at Crossroads North Middle School Wednesday, June 15, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office and South Brunswick district officials. Police have identified the 40-year-old man killed in a collision with a tractor-trailer. Kendall Campbell, of New Brunswick, was driving north on Route 1 near New Road when the crash occurred about 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, South Brunswick police said. Campbell got stuck under the rear of a tractor-trailer driven by a 56-year-old man from Somerset, police said.
