Pair Charged With Attempted Murder For Firing At Vehicle In Somerset County: Prosecutor
Two suspects were arrested and charged with attempted murder for firing at a vehicle in Somerset County last year, authorities announced Friday, Sept. 15.
Ikeem Thomas, 20, of Covington, Georgia, and Josiah T. Talbert, 20, of Somerset, were each charged with first-degree attempted murder, first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, and various weapons offenses stemming from an incident in which they fired at a vehicle near Sunny Slope Road in Bridgewater around 3:30 p.m. on March 1, 2022, Somerset County Prosecutor John P. An off-duty Edison police officer was charged with vehicular homicide in connection with one of the two double-fatal crashes that occurred in Somerset County over the weekend, authorities announced.
Amitoj Oberoi, 29, of Somerset, was charged with two counts of first-degree vehicular homicide, as well as DWI, and several motor vehicle violations, Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald said Wednesday, Aug. 30.
Oberoi is employed as an Edison police officer and was off-duty at the time of the crash, the prosecutor said.

Fajr A. Williams was apparently strapped incorrectly when her bus went over a series of bumps on Monday, July 17, as Daily Voice previously reported citing the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office.

Police ID Drowned Dad Saving Kids In Millstone River
Authorities have identified the 42-year-old dad who drowned while saving his three children in the Millstone River.
Rolando Camarillo-Cholula, of South River, went into the water and brought his children, ages 8, 11, and 13 to shore, around 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, Franklin Township police said.
Camarillo-Cholula, however, struggled to maintain his balance.
Thus began a search for the victim, as his children were treated at the scene and released without further medical attention.
