ID Of Tow Truck Operator Killed By Passing Car On Route 19 Released
A tow truck operator was killed by a passing vehicle on Route 19 over the weekend, authorities said. Manuel Perez, 64, was trying to hook another vehicle to his truck on the southbound side of the highway when he was struck by a Toyota sedan that then struck the tow truck and overturned around 11:40 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 3 at milepost 2-3, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said. Perez was pronounced dead and the driver of the Toyota was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. This investigation is active and ongoing. Perth Amboy Motorcyclist Killed In Three-Vehicle Crash, Investigators Say
A Perth Amboy man was killed when his motorcycle was hit by a car, authorities said. Michael Fernandez, 25, died in the three-vehicle crash on Friday, Aug. 23, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said in a news release. Perth Amboy police were called to the scene near the intersection of Kamm Road and Route 35 (Convery Boulevard) at around 5:55 p.m. Investigators said Fernandez was turning onto Route 35 when he was struck by a sedan, which also crashed into another vehicle. Authorities have released details in a dump truck crash on Route 31 in Clinton Township that left one person dead on Tuesday, June 18. A 66-year-old man was operating a dump truck that collided with a Toyota sedan driven by a 64-year-old woman around 2:20 p.m. in front of Riley and Jake's Restaurant, the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office said. An armed Clifton homeowner confronted and apparently scared off a group of vehicle thieves by firing a gunshot into the air, authorities said. Serious Crash Injures Motorist On Garden State Parkway:

A driver was seriously injured after his car crashed and overturned along the Garden State Parkway, authorities said. The crash was reported at 12:19 p.m. Wednesday, June 1 in the south local lanes at milepost 112.6 in Middletown Township, said Sgt. Alejandro Goez, a New Jersey State Police spokesman. A sedan went off the road to the right and overturned, Goez said. The driver was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries, he said. The right lane remained shut down at about 1:30 p.m. during the accident investigation.

Car Slams Into Basement Of Hawthorne Home
Two people were hospitalized Thursday afternoon after a sedan plowed into the basement of a Hawthorne home. A driver was hospitalized with serious injuries after a Saturday afternoon crash in Fair Lawn.
