A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash in Manchester, authorities said. On Monday, Jan. 1, at approximately 2:10 pm, members of the Manchester Township Police responded to the area of Route 571 and Beacon Street for a two-vehicle crash. Officers observed a white 2010 Mercedes-Benz SUV facing west on Country Route 571 with rear-end damage. A 30-year-old Toms River woman was high on pot when she caused a four-car crash that left two people dead last March, authorities said. Danielle Bowker was behind the wheel of a 2018 Honda Civic heading westbound on Route 571 when she swerved while negotiating a right-hand curve around 7:15 a.m. March 29 in Manchester, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Police ID Toms River Woman Who Died After Slamming Head-On Into Truck In Fiery Crash
A 52-year-old woman died after crashing into a truck head-on Monday in Toms River, police said. Claudine Silverstri was heading west on Route 571 in the left lane when she suddenly drifted into the right and struck a curb and guardrail near Oak Ridge Parkway around 7 a.m., a witness told police. The vehicle then veered to the left and entered the oncoming traffic lanes, where Silvestri collided head-on with a sign truck before her vehicle caught fire, police said. A 31-year-old man from Manchester Township has been arrested on drug and weapons charges, authorities said. Rameek Peace is accused of threatening people with a handgun on Oct. 21 at the Surf and Stream Campground on Route 571, Manchester police said. Police were called on a report of a man assaulting a woman inside an SUV, and menacing anyone who tried to help. A suspect fled before police arrived. A 43-year-old man from Toms River was killed on Tuesday after he lost control of his convertible and struck a utility pole head-on, authorities said. Roy Piazza was driving westbound on Route 571 about 5:10 p.m. when his 2005 Chrysler Crossfire slid across the road and struck the pole head-on at the intersection of Whitesville Road and Leawood Avenue, Toms River police said.
