Police ID Pedestrian Killed Near Freehold Raceway
A 76-year-old Manalapan man was killed after he was struck by a cargo van in Freehold on Wednesday morning, Aug. 7, authorities said. Frank Tommasini who was crossing Park Avenue at Ann Street when he was struck by a 2022 Ram ProMaster van heading west on Route 33 around 11:25 a.m., Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said. Driver Killed In Central Jersey Crash, State Police Say
One person was killed in a crash in Monmouth County, authorities said. A driver died in the crash in Howell Township on Tuesday, July 9, according to state police data. The wreck happened on Fort Plains Road at around 4:53 p.m. Howell police said the crash was between Bergerville Road and Arrowwood Court in the Wyckoff Mills section of the township. Firefighters Quickly Douse Blaze On Jersey Shore
A family safely escaped a house fire in Howell, but a firefighter was injured, authorities said. The fire broke out at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9 at 948 Route 33, Howell police said. A 9-1-1 call was placed by an Eatontown firefighter who observed smoke coming from the residence. Upon arrival of the responding patrol officers, all occupants of the home were already safely evacuated, police said. Fire departments responded quickly containing and extinguishing the fire. The fatal fire broke out at the Angle Inn Mobile Home Park on Route 33 around 11:30 p.m., where a trailer had erupted in flames, the Asbury Park Press says citing a spokesperson with the county's prosecutor's office. The westbound lanes were closed between Perrineville and Applegarth roads around 2 p.m. They had reopened as of 6 p.m. It was not clear how many people died and no further information was being released.
