Police were looking for a man who had been harassing women while naked in a South Brunswick apartment complex, authorities said. The South Brunswick Police Department said a man has been approaching women at least five times in the parking lot of the Royal Oaks & East Garden Apartment Homes since July. The only article of clothing the suspect wore was a ski mask. Investigators said the man goes up to the women and "aggressively manipulates his waist area." Motorcyclist, 45, Killed In Route 1 Crash: Police
A 45-year-old motorcyclist from Essex County was killed in a crash on Route 1 in Edison, authorities said. Alexander Chong of Belleville was killed when he struck the rear of a vehicle stopped at a red light, Edison police said. He ended up under the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The crash occurred at about 8:15 p.m. on Sunday, July 28 northbound near Old Post Road North. The crash occurred at about 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, June 27 northbound near Adams Lane in North Brunswick Township, according to the NJDOT and local police. Raul Montoya-Chavez, of Edison, was hit in the southbound center lane of Route 1 at about 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15 as he tried to cross at Plainfield Avenue, Edison police said. William Koerner was last seen walking toward McDonald's on Route 1 on Wednesday, May 1, at 9:30 p.m. Police did not release his age. He was last seen wearing a white crewneck sweatshirt, a black jacket, and grey work pants, police said. Two people were killed in separate crashes in South Brunswick including a motorist from South River and a motorcyclist from Pennsylvania, authorities said. At 5:56 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, officers were alerted to a single-car crash on Route 535. An 82-year-old driver was killed in a wrong-way. crash on Route 1 in Woodbridge, authorities said. Richard Becker, of East Brunswick, was driving south in the northbound lanes near Ford Avenue when he struck another car at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, Woodbridge police said. A popular diner in Edison has been closed by a kitchen fire, authorities said. The fire at the Menlo Park Diner, 1475 Route 1, broke out on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 9:58 p.m., according to Edison Fire Chief Andrew Toth. "It was more smoke than anything," said Toth who noted there were no injuries. The restaurant had closed for the day at 3 p.m., the chief said. The fire was extinguished in 15 to 20 minutes, he said.
