Update: Missing Retired Law Enforcement Officer Found With Stab Wound In Bergen County Park The search for a distraught retired law enforcement officer ended when rescuers found him bleeding from an apparently self-inflicted stab wound in a wooded area of a Bergen County park early Tuesday evening. The 66-year-old victim's wound wasn't considered life-threatening, responders said. BMW Snaps Ridgewood Utility Pole A driver escaped serious injury when her BMW sedan took out a utility pole and damaged the base of a light post Friday morning in Ridgewood. Ridgewood EMS took her to The Valley Hospital following the crash on West Ridgewood Avenue. The street was partially closed for several hours while utility crews tended to the pole. Ridgewood police and firefighters also responded.

Tires Slashed On Ridgewood Police Cruiser, Eight Private Vehicles Tires were slashed on a Ridgewood police car and eight civilian vehicles before dawn Sunday, authorities said. Residents reported tires slashed on private vehicles parked in driveways on South Pleasant Avenue, Jemco Place, Amsterdam Avenue and Spring Avenue, Police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke said. The chief asked anyone who saw any of the slashings, has surveillance video or knows who was responsible to contact Ridgewood police: (201) 652-3900. All calls will be kept confidential, she said.
