Video Shows NJ Alligator Attempting Sweet Escape Before Capture
Police in Piscataway have released bodycam footage showing the capture of the rogue alligator more than a week after it was spotted in a Central Jersey park (scroll for video). The 56-second clip shows the 4-foot gator running from officers who spotted him in front of a home near 2nd Avenue Thursday night, Sept. 7. The alligator was first spotted on Wednesday, Aug. 30. Alligator Captured In Central Jersey
The elusive alligator that kept a Central Jersey park closed for more than a week was captured about 400 yards from where it was first spotted Wednesday, Aug. 30, authorities said. On Thursday night, Sept. 7, officers from the Piscataway Police Department found the 4-foot-long gator near 2nd Avenue, in the roadway in front of a home around 10:10, Middlesex police said. A popular Central Jersey restaurant and bar is "suspending operations'' after 33 years in business. Buzzy’s Food & Spirits is shutting down this Saturday, Aug. 12, according to the co-owner. Rutgers University Student Committed Suicide: Prosecutor
Authorities are investigating after the body of a male student was found on the Rutgers University Campus in Piscataway. The death was ruled a suicide, they said. There was no threat to the public and no foul play was suspected, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Kenneth Cop of the Rutgers Police Department. Driver Dies In Fiery Overnight Central Jersey Crash: Prosecutor
One person died in a fiery crash overnight in Middlesex County. A Lexus that was traveling down Stelton Road struck the passenger side door of the Ford Focus turning left onto Mindy Lane around 1:40 a.m. Saturday, June 3 in Piscataway, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said. The Lexus struck a utility pole and caught fire. The Ford Focus also caught fire. The driver of the Ford Focus was pronounced dead at the scene. Second Suspect Charged In Central Jersey Shooting: Prosecutor
A 26-year-old Middlesex County man has been charged in connection with an October 2022 shooting, authorities said. Gary Manley of Edison was charged while incarcerated with first-degree attempted murder, first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, and weapons offenses, they said. Driver, 30, Dies When Car Plunges Into Central Jersey Lake
A 30-year-old New Brunswick resident died after driving into Lake Nelson, authorities said. Alquan Green was driving north on Metlars Lane at 6:51 p.m. Saturday, May 13 when his SUV crashed through a guardrail and landed in the lake, Piscataway officials said.
