Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Vehicle On Route 18: East Brunswick PD
A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on Route 18 in East Brunswick on the evening of Wednesday, Feb. 19, authorities said. At 11:57 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Highway 18 northbound and South Woodland Drive for the report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle, East Brunswick police said. The pedestrian, whose identity is currently unconfirmed, was pronounced dead, police said. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured and remained at the scene of the crash, police said. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, police said.

Police ID Pedestrians Killed By Car In Toms River
Two pedestrians were struck and killed by an 18-year-old driver while crossing a Toms River street on Tuesday night, Feb. 18, police said. A Toms River man was traveling north in a Toyota Corolla on Fischer Boulevard when he struck 72-year-old Craig Parson and 68-year-old Debra Wright, just before 7 p.m. near Hazelwood Road, Lt. A 56-year-old Ocean County Man was killed after he was struck by a vehicle while crossing Route 37 on the evening of Tuesday, Feb. 4., authorities said. At 9:02 p.m., a 2021 Honda Civic driven by a Barnegat man was traveling westbound on Route 37, when it hit Jason Matthews, an Island Heights resident, as he was crossing the roadway, Toms River police said. As a result of the crash, Matthews was transported to Community Medical Center in Toms River where he was pronounced dead, police said. A 34-year-old swimmer visiting from Guyana — or the "Land of Many Waters" — was struck and killed by a vehicle while in a crosswalk in Freehold Township, authorities said. Robert Taylor was struck by a southbound driver on Route 9 at Schibanoff Lane on Monday, Jan. 9 around 7 a.m., according to authorities and those who knew Taylor.
