A 77-year-old woman died after being struck by an SUV in the parking lot of the Paramus ShopRite on Labor Day, sources tell Daily Voice. The Hackensack resident was rushed to Hackensack University Medical Center after she was hit by an 81-year-old Tappan, NY man driving a Cadillac Escalade in the parking lot of the Route 4 supermarket just after 1 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 4, Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti said. A good Samaritan rescued a Paramus woman who was tackled and pulled into the bushes on a local street in broad daylight by a would-be rapist carrying a knife, authorities said. The 35-year-old victim told police she was walking on Oradell Avenue near Wilsey Court and the Garden State Parkway when Hector W. Paramus Crash Sends Driver To Hospital
A driver was hospitalized following a chain-reaction late-morning crash Monday in Paramus. The driver's BMW slammed into a minivan in front of the Brookdale Paramus Senior Living community on Paramus Road between Johnson and White Pine courts. There was no immediate word on the extent of the victim's injuries or whether anyone else was hurt. Paramus police, firefighters and EMS responded.
