The PTAs of two Central Jersey public schools are reporting a possible theft of funds. The two Old Bridge school PTAs are the Grissom Elementary School PTA and Jonas Salk Middle School PTA. Both sent letters to parents this week informing them of financial issues. Both school PTAs said they referred the matter to Old Bridge police. Police did not immediately reply to a request for comment. They also said they removed a member of the Grissom Elementary School PTA board, but did not name the board member. A Central Jersey mom was sentenced to 11 years in New Jersey State Prison for a wrong-way DWI crash that killed two 9-year-old boys including her son, authorities said. Old Bridge police are investigating the dumping of 500 pounds of pasta along a brook, township officials said. The Department of Public Works cleaned up about 15 wheelbarrows' worth of spaghetti, macaroni and other pasta after photos circulated on social media. : Central Jersey Man, 23, Gone Since Friday
A man from Central Jersey has been missing since Friday, Feb. 25, authorities said. Derek Boateng, 23, was reported missing on Sunday, Old Bridge police said. Boateng didn’t have his cell phone and he does not drive. He is 5-foot-8-inches tall, weighs about 165 pounds and frequents Sayreville and Perth Amboy, police said. A New Jersey man is accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend dead and then turning the knife on himself Tuesday night in, authorities said. Yajaira Moreno, 33, and Juan Alvarado, 39, of Elizabeth, were both found dead in a house on Jacob Street in Old Bridge just after 11:15 p.m., Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said in a joint release Thursday.
