Police in Monmouth County are looking for help finding whoever killed a convenience store owner nearly 30 years ago, authorities said. In a news release on Thursday, Mar. 28, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said law enforcement is looking for new information about the 1996 death of Smita Amin Patel. A fugitive allegedly responsible for a shooting in Neptune City has been arrested in Georgia, authorities said. Andre Paul, 27, of Ocean Township is charged with first-degree attempted murder, hindering apprehension and weapons offenses, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago. A woman from Neptune Township has been charged with stealing more than $146,000 from her former employer, authorities said. Jodi L. Vanaman, 47, was charged with theft by unlawful taking, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago. A Neptune City police officer is accused of sending sexually suggestive texts to an 18-year-old girl that he had just arrested, authorities said. Damien Broschart, 29, of Howell was charged with cyber harassment and hindering apprehension of oneself after a joint investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Neptune City Police Department, according to Prosecutor Christopher J.
