Police ID Driver, 23, Killed In South Brunswick Christmas Eve Morning Crash Police have identified the 23-year-old driver killed in a crash on Route 1 in South Brunswick. Vedant Tiru was in the left lane of Route 1 south near New Road when he lost control, slid sideways across the roadway, and struck a utility pole around 12:55 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, South Brunswick police said. Tiru was pronounced dead at the scene. The Kendall Park First Aid, Kendall Park Fire Department, Middlesex County Medical Examiner, and New Jersey State Department of Transportation responded to the crash. Passaic County Driver Killed In NJ Turnpike Crash A 62-year-old Passaic County man was killed in a crash on the NJ Turnpike Saturday, March 18, authorities said. Scott Locicero was heading north on the outer roadway in a Chevrolet Silverado, when he struck the left guardrail, traveled across the lanes, and struck the right concrete barrier around 7:05 p.m. in Milltown, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Philip Curry said. Locicero died as a result of the crash. The crash remains under investigation.

Pregnant Pedestrian Struck By Jeep In Central Jersey Crosswalk: Police A pregnant woman was struck by a Jeep in Edison, authorities said. At 8:41 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 8, a 31-year-old woman from Edison was struck in the crosswalk at Route 514E and Sunrise Drive, police said. She was conscious and alert when transported to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital.  The driver, a 39-year-old man from Milltown, was driving a 2007 Black Jeep Liberty at the time of the impact.  The crash remains under investigation,  No charges had been filed.

Police ID Motorcyclist, 48, Killed In Central Jersey Crash Police have identified the 48-year-old motorcyclist killed in a crash in Central Jersey. Thomas Zink Jr., of Milltown, was riding on Fresh Ponds Road in East Brunswick about 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 10 when he crashed, police said. Zink was pronounced dead at the scene.  No other motorists were involved. Anyone with information is urged to call East Brunswick police at 732-390-6969.

He was 72 years old.  Born in Italy, he lived in Elizabeth and Milltown before moving to Bridgewater 40 years ago.  He and his brother Mario founded Perrotti's Quality Meats in Cranford in 1967 and worked there until retiring in 2017.
