Bomb threats caused a scare for parents for a second straight day in a Monmouth County school district investigating sexual abuse accusations against a teacher. UPDATE: Schools in Marlboro Township were closed Thursday, April 18 after a bomb threat initially prompted a 2-hour delay, officials announced. Marlboro police confirmed threats were sent to the middle school and the Board of Education buildings, the day after news spread that a middle school teacher was being investigated for abusing a student. Crash, Downed Power Lines Close Road In Monmouth County
An overturned vehicle and downed power lines closed a road in Marlboro, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18 on Buckley Road, Marlboro police said. Buckley Road is closed between School Road East and Inverness Drive they said. Police asked residents to avoid the area.

Aberdeen police have arrested two men in connection with a robbery at a McDonald's. The robbery took place Wednesday, evening July 12 at the Route 34 restaurant, Aberdeen police said. Police arrested Ryan Nevins, of Aberdeen, at 5 p.m. Thursday, July 13 after a police officer spotted him on foot, they said. Bronx Foursome Foiled By Central Jersey Woman, 77, In 'Grandparent Scam'
Three men and a woman from the Bronx were arrested after calling a 77-year-old woman from Monmouth County to say her grandson needed bail money, authorities said. After the caller told the elderly woman that people would come pick up the money at her house -- and that she shouldn’t tell anyone -- the unidentified senior citizen called her grandson to confirm he had not been arrested, Marlboro Police Capt.
