'Beyond Devastation:' Family Mourns Loss Of NJ Woman Found Dead In Alabama
Support is on the rise for the family of a New Jersey woman who was found dead on an Alabama roadside earlier this month.
As of Wednesday, Aug. 28, more than $5,500 had been raised on a GoFundMe for the family of Long Branch resident, Miyell A. Johnson, who also went by, Kimberly Ann Agere, 29.
No foul play was suspected in Johnson's death, after her body was found on Saturday morning, Aug. 10, as reported by ABC3340.

Hundreds Without Power In NJ, More Storms Possible Late In The Day
Thousands of New Jersey residents woke up Monday morning, Aug. 19 without power due to Sunday's storm.
And according to the National Weather Service, more stormy weather could be on the way for later in the day.
As of 6:40 a.m., JCP&L was reporting the most outages with the following areas without power: Clinton, 880; Branchville, 150; Hopatcong, 215; Long Branch/Asbury Park, 350; Lakewood, 265.
The National Weather Service said Monday would be cloudy, but will become partly sunny by midday.

More than 8,000 New Jersey residents were without power amid another round of storms on Sunday, June 22.
PSE&G's outage map shows 5,341 were in the dark in Burlington County and more than 3,000 in Camden. The majority of the outages were in Maple Shade, Moorestown, Haddon and Pennsauken.
In Union County, nearly 1,000 had lost power in Westfield.
Smaller but more widespread outages were reported on the Jersey Shore, according to JCP&L, specifically in Long Branch, Red Bank, Asbury Park, Hazlet, Middletown, Keansburg, and Matawan.

Two Monmouth County drivers were accused of being intoxicated during a deadly crash, authorities said.

A Monmouth County man was accused of stalking a teen girl, leaving her flowers and "disturbing" notes, authorities said.
Thomas Watts, 70, of Long Branch, was arrested by West Long Branch police on Thursday, Mar. 14, the department said in a news release. He was charged with stalking and harassment.

Melanie, NJ Folk Singer, Woodstock Performer, Dies At 76
Melanie, a folk singer-songwriter whose music took her from the Jersey Shore to international success in the 70's, has died at 76 years old.
Melanie Safka died on Tuesday, Jan. 23, according to a Facebook post by her family. A cause of death was not given. The Long Branch native was born on Monday, Feb. 3, 1947, her IMDb page said.
Her children called her a powerful performer and loving parent.
