: Paramus Officers Rescue Driver In Fiery Crash On Route 17 Pedestrian Bridge
PHOTOS/VIDEO: Two Paramus police officers rescued a trapped driver whose out-of-control SUV climbed the steps of a Route 17 pedestrian bridge and caught fire. The 42-year-old motorist from Harriman, NY, told police his 2016 Range Rover hit something on the northbound highway shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday, Deputy Police Chief Robert Guidetti said. He lost control of the vehicle, which crashed onto the stairway of a highway pedestrian bridge just south of Linwood Avenue and burst into flames, Guidetti said. : Man Struck, Killed Trying To Cross Route 17
UPDATE: A gruesome scene had some responders looking on in shock after a pedestrian was struck and killed before dawn Saturday on Route 17 in Paramus. Both sides of the highway remained closed for several hours. The victim was a homeless man who regularly stopped in at a gas station convenience store on the northbound side looking for food, authorities said. He tried to cross the highway carrying some breakfast in the dark when he was struck and thrown onto the southbound side shortly before 6 a.m. Other vehicles then struck him on that side, responders said. SUV Rolls On Garden State Parkway
A driver walked away with a minor injury after an SUV rollover crash on the Garden State Parkway, responders said. The crash occurred around 1:50 p.m. on the parkway’s southbound side near Linwood Avenue. Paramus police, firefighters and EMS, New Jersey State Police and a GSP road crew were among the responders.

Authorities: Paramus Driver, 77, Crashes Sedan Into Ridgewood Police Car At Accident Scene
A 77-year-old driver from Paramus was hospitalized after her sedan hit two cars, one of them a Ridgewood police vehicle that was stopped following another crash. The original crash occurred Monday afternoon at Linwood Avenue and Paramus Road. Police were investigating that accident when the second crash occurred. The Paramus driver, who wasn’t seriously injured, was issued a careless driving summons, police said. Her Mercury Sable had to be towed. No police were reportedly injured.
