A former New Jersey corrections officer admitted to assaulting a resident who died several days after the attack, authorities said. Giuseppe Mandara of Brick Township pleaded guilty on Tuesday, Dec. 3 to third-degree aggravated assault, Attorney General Matthew Platkin and the state's Office of Public Integrity and Accountability said in a news release on Wednesday, Dec. 4. An Ocean County man will spend time in prison after admitting to leaving the scene of a crash that killed his passenger, authorities said. Angel Garcia-Rodriguez, 26, of Lakewood, was sentenced on Friday, May 3 to five years in state prison, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer announced in a news release. Two women have been sentenced to New Jersey State Prison in connection with endangering the welfare of a child who was locked in a bedroom day and night, authorities said. A Cumberland County jury found a mother guilty in the 2019 death and dismemberment of her 23-month-old child, according to the county Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae. Nakira M.
