10 Heat-Related Incidents Hospitalize 4 During Jersey Shore Half-Marathon
Ten people suffered heat-related incidents at the 50th annual Jersey Shore half-marathon in Sandy Hook over the weekend, authorities said. Four runners were taken to the hospital from the popular race on Sunday, Oct. 1, according to a National Park Service spokeswoman. Six other racers refused medical attention, the spokeswoman said. Sunday was a summer-like day with temps plunging near 80 degrees.

UPDATE: Federal authorities have taken custody of an accused child porn trafficker from the Jersey Shore who they said had online sex with at least two minors he met on a social media app. Ocean County prosecutor’s detectives initially investigated Christopher Budelman, 36, of Brick, leading to an arrest in late September 2022. An apparent lawsuit over an off-season drowning has led to the closure of popular Jersey Shore beaches, authorities said. A detective from the Jersey Shore was found to have violated a court order by not surrendering personal guns, authorities said. A teacher saved a Jersey Shore swimmer in distress while surfing over the weekend, and he just so happened to capture it on video. Nearly a dozen swimmers were rescued along two New Jersey beaches on Sunday, Sept. 3. A woman was fatally struck by a car at the Jersey Shore overnight, authorities said. The woman, whose identity was not released as of press time, was struck at the intersection of Route 36 and Atlantic Street in Keyport, just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S.
