A woman who once made national headlines when she showed up for a job interview with the Hudson County Sheriff's Office only to be busted for nearly a dozen outstanding warrants was arrested for burglarizing a post office she'd been fired from, federal authorities said. Zyeama Johnson, 29, of Jersey City had been sacked by the U.S. Postal Service when she applied for a security guard's job with the county sheriff's office in the fall of 2022. Three Jersey City men were accused of illegally selling marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms at two Monmouth County vape shops, authorities said. Abdullah Hassan, Waqas Ahmed, and Muhammad Khan were arrested on Wednesday, May 1, the Hazlet Police Department said in a news release on Friday, May 3. State Grants $2.1M For Renovation Of Jersey City Studio Production Facility
New Jersey is continuing to invest in production. The New Jersey Economic Developing Authority announced on Wednesday, April 10, it has approved $9.5 million in funding to support five projects under the Film and Digital Media Studio Infrastructure Program. Of that grant money, $3.5 million will be going to Jersey City for two projects. A visitor who suffered a medical emergency at Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office was revived by a group of detectives, authorities said.
