A 43-year-old former youth band leader has been sentenced to state prison for using a secret camera to film a YMCA bathroom shower, authorities said. He already is serving a federal prison sentence in Mississippi on related charges, they said. Matthew Wolny of Jackson Township was sentenced on Friday to five years in New Jersey State Prison, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office. A town in Ocean County has been hit by an unusually high number of car thefts, authorities say. Jackson Township police are reminding residents to remove any valuables, including cellphones, wallets and purses from vehicles, and to lock them even if they are parked in your driveway. A 28-year-old man from Toms River facing multiple charges after assaulting police officers at Jackson Township police headquarters and an area hospital, authorities said. Car Slams Into Tree Off I-195 On Jersey Shore
State police, firefighters and EMS crews were called to a serious crash on Thursday afternoon, authorities said. The crash occurred at 1:21 p.m. on Interstate-195 eastbound at mile-marker 22.2 in Jackson Township, according to a state trooper.. Philly Woman, 18, Seriously Injured In Route 195 Ejection Crash
An 18-year-old driver from Philadelphia was seriously injured in a Route 195 crash in Ocean County Tuesday. Alexa Zendaoui was heading westbound in a 2003 Honda Civic when she ran off the road to the right around 4:10 p.m. in Jackson Township, NJSP Trooper Charles Marchan said. Zendaoui struck a tree, overturned and was ejected near milepost 18, Marchan said. She was seriously injured in the crash, which was under investigation as of Wednesday.
