Crash With Injuries Closes I-195 On Jersey Shore A multi-vehicle crash with injuries closed Interstate 195 in both directions during the evening rush, New Jersey transportation officials said. Multiple emergency personnel were on the scene at about 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16. The crash occurred at about 4:20 p.m. east of Exit 28 near Route 9 in Howell, closing all lanes of the highway. There was an unconfirmed report that a motorist was trapped and then taken to the hospital. New Jersey State Police were not immediately available for more details.  CHECK BACK FOR UPDATES

Tractor-Trailer Flips, Concrete Slab Closes I-195 Ramp A tractor-trailer overturned and dumped a large concrete slab onto Interstate 195 during the morning rush hour, authorities said. The crash occurred at 8:14 a.m. Tuesda-Feb. 14 on I-195 eastbound exit 28B to Roiute 9 in Howell Township, according to Sgt. Philip Curry, a New Jersey State Police spokesman. The driver was not injured., Curry said. The exit ramp remained closed at noon and would remain closed until the concrete slab can be lifted back onto the trailer, Curry said. The crash was reported at about 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 15 on I-195 eastbound west of Exit 21 in Jackson Township, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation. Lauren Lewis, 33, of Trenton was killed when her Hyundai sedan went off the eastbound side of Interstate Interstate-195 in Hamilton Township, New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said.
