An ex-con dog walker from Hudson County had more than a pound of cocaine, an assault rifle and multiple high-capacity magazines in an electronically operated secret compartment of his SUV when he was stopped near the Meadowlands, authorities said. Police in Hudson County were searching for a road rage driver who rear-ended another vehicle and then fired two shots into the windshield over the weekend. The victim, a 27-year-old Rahway man, told Kearny police he had a 29-year-old passenger in his BMW 335, and were in front of a white Dodge Durango had been behind in traffic on Truck Route 1&9 south near Communipaw Avenue in Jersey City around 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, local police said. Pedestrian Hurt In North Bergen Hit-Run
A 32-year-old pedestrian was hurt in a hit-and-run crash in North Bergen Thursday, Oct. 13, authorities said. The victim is believed to have been struck by a dark-colored vehicle heading north on Tonnelle Avenue around 10 p.m. at 85th Street, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
