Pedestrian Identified In Deadly NJ Transit Train Crash Near Jersey Shore Station
Authorities have identified a homeless man who was killed when he was struck by a New Jersey Transit train in Red Bank. Joseph Rego Jr., 52, died in the crash on Tuesday, Oct. 8, an NJ Transit spokesperson said on Tuesday, Oct. 15. He was hit by a southbound North Jersey Coast Line train No. 3241 at the Monmouth Street crossing at around 2 p.m. The crossing is next to the Red Bank transit station.
