Alexandria resident Jessica "Jessy" Schroth died Tuesday, Aug. 8, after a recent illness, according to her obituary. She was 48 years old.
Born in Peru, Jessy earned her doctor of dental surgery in Brazil, before her MBA in healthcare from George Washington University in May 2022. At GWU, she was accepted into the golden Key Hnor Society, and then the Presidential Management Fellows Program at HUD, her obit says.

From the tanning salon to the US Capitol: Patricia Krentcil a.k.a. "Tan Mom" is trying to make it happen.
Krentcil, an Essex County native, who went viral 2012 after being accused of bringing her five-year-old daughter to a tanning salon in her native Nutley, announced she is running for the Republican nomination for US Senate in Florida next year.

Stop & Shop Hiring For More Than 5,000 Positions
Stop & Shop is looking to fill more than 5,000 regional positions.
The available positions across New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island are permanent and include store roles in bakery, deli, grocery, seafood, produce, front end, night crew and online pickup.
Stop & Shop is also hiring home delivery drivers and shoppers, as well as selectors at its distribution centers.
These 5,000 new positions are in addition to the 5,000 Stop & Shop sought to fill at the start of the pandemic in March.
