High Winds Wreak Havoc In NJ Leaving Roads Closed, Hundreds Without Power Wind gusts up to 50 mph were wreaking havoc across New Jersey on Friday, Aug. 9. As of 2:30 p.m., thousands of residents were without power and multiple roadways were closed due to downed wires and related crashes. Warren County Man Charged After Leaving Dog In Hot Car, Police Say A Warren County man was charged after leaving his dog in a hot car, authorities said. The man — whose name was not released — is accused of leaving his dog, “Rosco,” inside his car with no air conditioning and the windows rolled up on an 80-degree day, Washington Township Police said in a release on Tuesday, June 28. The Hardwick man was charged by a Washington Township Humane Law Enforcement Officer and is scheduled to appear in municipal court.

Pilot Escapes Hardwick Crash Landing Without Injury A pilot walked away from a crash landing in Hardwick Tuesday uninjured. The crash occurred on Jones Lane near Stillwater Road around 2:30 p.m., New Jersey State Police said. The pilot tried making an emergency landing in a field when the plane malfunctioned, police said.  The plane had taken off from Blairstown Airport and sustained heavy damage to the wins, State Police said. Bodycam Shows State Trooper Was Justified Shooting Man Who Charged At Police With Hunting Knife Thanks to a body camera, a New Jersey State Police trooper was found completely justified in shooting a man who charged at him and fellow troopers with a hunting knife, authorities announced Friday. The results were among the first under a new directive for police use-of-force investigations in New Jersey issued earlier this month by state Attorney General Gurbir Grewal. The troopers had gone to a Hardwick home in Warren County on June 12, 2018 to investigate a domestic dispute, the attorney general said.
