Popular Ice Cream Products Recalled Over Listeria Concerns, FDA Says
Approximately 70 ice cream products sold by multiple brands including Friendly's and Hershey's are being recalled due to a possible presence of listeria, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said. The brands were recalled this week by Totally Cool, Inc. based in Owings Mills, MD, which has stopped the production and distribution of the affected products due to FDA sampling. South Jersey Friendly's Shutters After Nearly 40 Years
Another New Jersey Friendly's restaurant has closed its doors. A sign hung in the door of the Marlton location on Route 70 W. — which opened in 1983 — announcing the closure Monday, Aug. 15, as first reported by NJ Advance Media. New Jersey is home to 18 of the chain's 125 locations in America. The Voorhees location is temporarily closed.

Police Arrest Hackettstown Man Claiming To Have Gun In Friendly’s Robbery
Police have made an arrest in connection with last February’s robbery at Friendly’s in Hackettstown. Erik Mitchell, 30, was arrested Monday and charged with first-degree robbery and fourth-degree theft by unlawful taking, Hackettstown Police said. Mitchell is accused of passing a note demanding money to a worker at the Mountain Avenue Friendly’s and claiming to have a gun before fleeing with $241 in cash on Feb. 12, 2021, DailyVoice.com reported. A Lodi career criminal with a rap sheet more than 15 years long was arrested after burglarizing a Prospect Park takeout restaurant before dawn Saturday, authorities said. Ryan Patrick Morgan, 34, has been arrested dozens of times in North Jersey since his 18th birthday, records show. Man Claiming To Have Gun Robs Hackettstown Friendly's, Authorities Say
Police in Hackettstown are seeking the public's help identifying a robbery of a Friday night robbery of Friendly's restaurant. The suspect passed a note to the employee demanding money and reportedly had a gun at the Mountain Avenue location between 9:30 and 9:40 p.m., police said.
