Police Nab Thief Who Stole $1,000 In Electronics From Franklin ShopRite A woman who stole a television and air conditioner valued at more than $1,000 from the Franklin ShopRite was being held in the Sussex County jail Monday, authorities said. Marianne Murphy of Bloomingdale put "paid" stickers on various items from the Route 23 grocery store and left without paying, Franklin Borough Police Chief Gregory M. Cugliari said. Murphy was located thanks to video surveillance and facial recognition technology, while her male accomplice was still at large, police said. She was charged with one count of shoplifting.

Little Hero: Quick-Thinking 4-Year-Old In Franklin Saves Mom's Life Police in Franklin are preparing to honor a little girl who kept her cool when her mother suffered a medical episode earlier this month.  Emergency dispatchers Julie Kozo and Olivia Klein received a 911 call shortly before 8 a.m Dec. 6 from Isla Glaser. The four-year-old told the dispatchers that her mother had fallen and needed help.
