Man Accidentally Shot Himself With Stolen Handgun: Ocean County Prosecutor A 58-year-old man was arrested and charged after he shot himself with a stolen handgun on Sunday, Feb. 23 and lied about it to police, authorities said. At 2:40 a.m., Manchester Township police responded to a residence in Whiting and found Richard Rokicki with a gunshot wound, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said. He was transported to a nearby hospital, authorities said. Former Newark Public Safety Director Accidentally Shot Himself — With Someone Else's Gun: PD Anthony Ambrose, who has a lengthy career in law enforcement in Essex County, accidentally shot himself with another person's gun on Friday, March 22, police said.
