NJ Driver, 20, Charged In Fatal New Year's Eve Crash In NY
A 20-year-old Newark resident was arrested after he fatally struck a pedestrian on New Year's Eve in Westchester County, NY and fled the scene, authorities said. At 2:32 a.m., first responders in Croton-on-Hudson responded to a report of a pedestrian lying in the roadway on Route 9 and transported the man to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Croton police said. A 28-year-old man from Ocean County has been sentenced to seven years in New Jersey state prison for leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle crash, authorities said. Roberto Alcazar-Sanchez, of Jackson, was sentenced as a result to a previously entered guilty plea to knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in death, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Ocean County Fugitive Extradited From Texas In Fatal Hit-Run Crash Remains Jailed
A 27-year-old Jackson man arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash on Christmas Eve has been ordered to remain detained at Ocean County Jail, authorities said. Roberto Alcazar-Sanchez previously was charged with knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in death and driving with a suspended license, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D.
