Jets Fire General Manager Amid Dismal Season
The New York Jets housecleaning continues. Weeks after firing head coach Robert Saleh, the Jets, who play in East Rutherford and practice in Florham Park, have fired general manager Joe Douglas amid a dismal 3-8 record, ESPN reported. Douglas was already on the outs at 1 Jets Dr., having not been consulted when the team fired Saleh amid a 2-3 start, ESPN said. Gang Green has gone 1-5 since firing Saleh and naming Jeff Ulbrich interim coach. Flight From NY Makes Emergency Landing After Passenger Assaults Flight Attendant
An American Airlines flight from New York was diverted after a passenger allegedly assaulted a flight attendant. Flight 976 had departed New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport around 9:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 27, and was headed to John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California, but was diverted to Denver because of the incident, the airline said in a statement. The aircraft landed safely and taxied to the gate where law enforcement removed and apprehended the passenger, the airline said.
