A construction worker from Pennsylvania died when the machine he was operating fell into frigid Linden waters, trapping him inside for nearly an hour Thursday morning, according to officials and news reports. Fire and police units responded to a construction site at 4900 Tremley Point Road, where the excavator had fallen into the Arthur Kill River Channel -- the operator inside a small pocket of air around 8 a.m., Linden police said in a release. Man, 25, Dies In Montgomery County Trench Collapse
A 25-year-old man died when a retaining wall collapsed on him while digging a trench Saturday afternoon in Montgomery County, authorities said. The man, who may have been a construction worker, was working at a home on Wrack Road in the Jenkintown section of Abington, when the wall fell on him around 3:45 p.m., Abington Police Lt. Ed Quinn told Daily Voice. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his identity was being withheld pending next of kin notification. A trio of Madison police officers jumped to action to save a 61-year-old construction worker who stopped breathing Saturday, authorities said. Police were called to Orchard Street after the man went unconscious while working in a home shortly after 12:30 p.m., authorities said. : Port Authority Police Revive Stricken Construction Worker At LaGuardia
A group of Port Authority police officers revived a construction worker who suffered a medical episode at LaGuardia Airport. Officers Oliver Ramclam, Richard McCarthy, Tim Feeney, John Gimigliano and Dan Novelli responded to a call for aid at a construction site opposite Terminal D shortly after 6:30 a.m. Monday, Port Authority Spokeswoman Lenis Valen said.
