A 68-year-old man has been arrested and charged after being suspected of robbing an East Brunswick bank. Daniel McCarthy of East Brunswick previously was charged with robbing a bank and attempting to rob another bank in Toms River on Aug. 22, police said. On Aug. 18, at approximately 11:05 a.m., the East Brunswick Police Department responded to Columbia Bank (389 Highway 18) for an activated panic alarm. Police Seek Help ID'ing Bank Robbery Suspect In Central Jersey
East Brunswick police seek the public’s help in identifying a man suspected of committing a bank robbery. On Friday, Aug. 18 at approximately 11:05 a.m., the East Brunswick Police Department was notified of an activated panic alarm at the Columbia Bank (389 Highway 18). Prior to the arrival of officers, it was reported that a robbery had occurred and the suspect fled the scene. Fair Lawn police released surveillance photos of a woman who they said robbed a Columbia Bank branch of nearly $8,000 Friday afternoon. It was shortly after 2 p.m. when the heavy-set black female robber "passed a note to the teller while keeping one hand in her jacket pocket and bringing that pocketed hand on top of the counter for the bank teller to see," Sgt.
