: Authorities ID Three Seniors Killed In Clifton House Fire
A 95-year-old woman and two fellow residents – 71 and 65 – were identified Saturday as the victims found dead in a Clifton house fire. Three firefighters, a Clifton police officer and a fourth resident also were injured in the blaze in a corner house on Ladwick Lane at Renaissance Drive near Van Houten Avenue in the city’s Athenia section on Nov. 18, authorities said. A New Jersey woman getting her nails done smacked a young Muslim girl in the head and told her and her sister to “go back to your f*cking country,” authorities charged. Police turned to the public for help finding a hit-and-run driver involved in a crash that killed a Clifton man crossing Route 46 before dawn Sunday. Dharmesh H. Patel, 35 was crossing the highway near Rock Hill Road when he was struck on the westbound side shortly after midnight, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Clifton Police Chief Thomas Rinaldi said. Clifton Man Charged With Attempted Bias Murder In Knife Attack On Mexican Female Grocer
A Clifton man was charged with attempted murder in what prosecutors said was a bias attack on a Mexican grocery store clerk. Shairo Gil, 24, missed when he tried to stab the clerk at Barrales Grocery on Main Street in the chest, they said. Gil “was purposely targeting any individual of Mexican descent” and went after ther clerk “because he believed her to be of Mexican descent,” Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Witnesses Sought From Route 3 Dump Truck Crash That Killed 1-Year-Old Girl
Authorities turned to the public for help Wednesday investigating a dump truck crash from last month that killed a 1-year-old girl on Route 3 in Clifton. Jamie Yarrish, 25, of Clifton had little Jaelynn with her when a 2005 Mack Conventional Cab dump truck struck her 2019 Honda Civic on the westbound highway near Allwood Road the morning of Aug. 15.The truck, operated by Chad Hines, 40, of Wantage, then struck a 2013 Subaru Outback operated by a f54-year-old Nutley man.
