NJ Triathlete Struck By Car Sees Community Support Mary Truer was out riding her bicycle when she was hit by a car. Now people in Essex County are coming together to assist her and her family. Truer, a triathlete, will need surgery, said her friend Jonathan Tabuzo, a Bloomfield native, who organized a GoFundMe fundraiser. The production company for "The Many Saints of Newark" was granted permits to film in Bloomfield, closing several streets that have been transformed into a snowy, 1960s day. The movie halted filming due to COVID-19, pushing the release date off until March 2021. Holsten's on Broad Street was closed Thursday for filming, but reopened Friday. Bloomfield Man Killed In Weekend Crash, 2 Passengers Hurt A 27-year-old man from Bloomfield was killed and two others hurt in a single-car crash in Woodbridge over the weekend, authorities said. Isiah Hamilton was heading south on Rahway Avenue when his car veered off the road and struck a pole around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Woodbridge police said. Hamilton was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, where he was pronounced dead. Hamilton’s two passengers, 23-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman, were taken to University Hospital in Newark with non life-threatening injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
