SUV Plows Through Front Of Elmwood Park Furniture Store
A driver escaped injury after crashing an SUV through the front of a Bergen County furniture store. The Infinity QX70S plowed into the Prestige Furniture store in the Elmwood Park Shopping Center off Broadway (Route 4) shortly after 8:30 p.m. Saturday, March 19. A driver for Belfi's Towing backed the vehicle out after borough firefighters cleared the opening. There was no structural damage to the building, authorities said. Paramus Police Officer OK, Driver Hospitalized In Multi-Vehicle Crash
A driver was hospitalized with a minor injury following a multi-vehicle crash involving a Paramus police cruiser Sunday afternoon. The officer was responding to an emergency call when the crash occurred at the busy intersection of Paramus and West Century roads around 3:30 p.m. The cruiser and a Toyota Camry were both severely damaged and had to be towed. Pickup Truck, SUV Crash Head-On In Fair Lawn
A pickup truck and an SUV collided head-on Tuesday afternoon in Fair Lawn. The 59-year-old Honda Pilot driver from Glen Rock apparently crossed the double-yellow line passing another vehicle on Saddle River Road when it collided with a Chevy Silverado at Terhune Place shortly after 4:30 p.m., Police Sgt. Brian Metzler said. She sustained a head and chest injury, Metzler said. A 38-year-old male passenger in the pickup was hospitalized with neck, ribs and ankle injuries. A North Bergen driver was under the influence when he ran a stop sign and caused a chain-reaction crash that sent chunks of concrete median onto Route 17 in Hasbrouck Heights and six people -- including himself -- to the hospital, authorities said.
