NJ Fugitive Caught After 100-Mile Police Chase With 10 Guns, Drugs In NC: Police
A fugitive wanted for attempted murder in Monmouth County was captured in North Carolina after leading police on a roughly 100-mile chase, authorities said. Damian Bell, 49, of Brooklyn, New York, was arrested in Durham County, NC, on Friday, Mar. 15. The Rowan County Sheriff's Office announced his arrest in a news release on Wednesday, Mar. 20. According to the sheriff's office, Bell was wanted for two counts of attempted murder in Monmouth County. Asbury Park Man Convicted Of Nearly Stabbing Ex-Girlfriend To Death
An Asbury Park man was convicted of nearly stabbing the mother of his child to death, authorities said. A jury found Amando Miguel-Ortiz, 37, guilty on Friday, Mar. 8 of first-degree attempted murder, along with a third- and fourth-degree weapons offense. Two men from Jamesburg were charged with attempted murder after one person was found stabbed and another shot, authorities said. Police responded to West Railroad Avenue for a critically injured person on Friday, March 8, according to Jamesburg Police Chief James J. Craparotta.
